Pine Barrens, NJ - 4/2/11 - 4/3/11

Pine Barrens in southern New Jersey.

We are planning on heading out to the barrens! I have never been there myself but from what i hear, dependent on the weather it can get VERY muddy. The terrain is mostly sandy. There is also lots of water holes. We are planning on meeting Saturday morning, lunch on the trail Saturday and camping out Saturday evening.

It will be a lot cheaper than Rausch. I believe entrance to Wharton is only $5, but YOUR VEHICLE MUST BE REGISTERED AND INSURED. They do have Forest Rangers that patrol, ont he other hand i have heard of people trailering their rigs in as they do have a parking lot if we enter at Basto village.
