I have RTE welded to the front of mine and they hold up real well.

i think weld on is the way to go... with that said both my weld on covers got knocked off on the trail

In the welders defense it was only like the third time he ever welded something.......

He's gotten much better since buying his own machine

just make sure the person welding has great experience! just kidding, I'm grateful he gave it a go, it was only $100 i lost. The diffs were just fine!

My bolt on front cover has held up very well. Has come close to falling off but a swift kick puts it back in place easy enough

Weld on are the way to go.  I've destroyed a couple good bolt on diff covers.  

Of course, I'm not known for being too gentle with my truck...Laughing
