| Well I've joined the club, the front of the passenger side gasket is pissing oil. I lost 3/4 of my oil in a 100 miles of driving so I have the composite head Gaskets on order along with the cylinder head stud kit. Stupid fucking stretch bolts... Hoping the heads are okay but I'll see once they're off. God dammit... | |

| Have fun, definitely have the heads checked and pressure tested, mine were both warped had them cut, did not bother with valve job since not smoking and all that looked good | |

| Thanks, my dad had the tools to check if the heads are warped or not. I've rebuild cylinder heads on a couple of cars so if I need to I can. I don't see the valves needing replacement as the truck is running fine. Just had enough oil coming out to give a texan a raging hard on. | |

| I would have a machine shop pressure test them, would suck to do it twice, the specs for checking the heads and machining is in the rave manual | |

| Okay so worked on the truck this weekend and came to the conclusion that I'll not have time to finish this before the wedding so I put it back together and have 2 gallons of oil in the back to top it up for now. Won't have to drive it that much as I have my DD so that lead my dad and I to start thinking about just pulling the whole engine and having the crankshaft mic'd while getting new bearings. | |

It's an 04 with the 4.6 already, looking into what is involved in stroking it out to 5.0 | |

| I was thinking of doing top hat liners instead. My plan when I get back is to look into finding a 4.6 from a wrecked 04, rebuilding that one and then swapping it in and rebuilding the second engine and selling it. Money and time are going to be the deciding factors though. | |
