New guy in Astoria, NY, originally from Turkey

Hi all,

My name is Ali, and I live in Astoria, NY.
I am from Turkey.

I moved here in 2012, and got my MS in NYIT. Now working in Plaxall Inc. as Project Manager.

I used to have a LR2 back in Turkey. Land Rovers are the best SUVs in Turkey, and they appreciated a lot. Unfortunately here I figured out that they are not as popular as in Turkey.
I did not experience any problems with my LR2, so I thrust Land Rover.

I bought a 2002 Freelander in 2013 here. It was a bit abused, but I am taking good care with it since I bought it, and I love it.

I am so glad that I found this forum, and the club.

Welcome to the forum! There are two others from Turkey that have been on outings and that live in NYC.

Oh, thats great to know. For the outings, especially the off-road/crawling meetings my poor old freelander may not keep up with the most successful Discos, but I would be more that happy to meet up with you guys. Thanks for warm welcoming!

there are plenty of stock series trucks that come out, not every truck is modded for rock crawling. I've seen a lot of the Europeans off-road the freelander and LR2's

I would love to get dirty, but my car is stock, so I wouldn't push it hard. We'll see.
