| ARB710 snatch strap. I'll have it hooked up to the rear attach point and fed into the cockpit so I can throw it to you Brian. | |

| i've noticed that ARB's are significantly more expensive than other brands. are they really that much better than a smittybilt or "keeper" ? | |

I have never seen the SmittyBilt LR bumper and I don't know what a "keeper" is but the ARB is not better than other bumpers I have seen for the LR.
Rovertym and Roxtar make nice bumpers. The Rovertym is less flexible and of thicker construction than the ARB. some of the higher price may be due to the shipping from Australia. They are not particularly good for northeast terrain either - the approach angle is not any better or, most likely, worse than stock. They hang out too much in front of the truck. Too many better choices for the same or less money.
BTW, I have owned 2 ARB's and now have a Rovertym. im talking about the snatch strap. I have a hi country bumper now.

I looked around and it was the right length and width, is of the proper material for stretching (something to look for when strap shopping) and is priced good enough - $77 on Lucky8. I after researching for a long time I figured this was the best bet. Smittybilt is all Chinese stuff I think.

| I have a Keeper I use a lot but its starting to get tore up in a few spots (guess too many funeral preccesions between me an Dave up 209). I have an ARB and a MileMarker in the truck also. The ARB has heavier webbing between all 3 of them and it has a little better stitching. I only use the Keeper since its the only one open the others are still sealed up. | |

| I think I have a smitty strap and it has done fine. And I also have that massive 5" wide strap that belongs to Brian F that gets used as a tree saver | |

Actually I come off tough on ARB bumpers. The fact is I did have a couple and liked them, I just was disappointed in the size of them. If I had not happened upon a used Rovertym I would still be running an ARB. I have a Mile Marker winch. I really don't know that Smittybilt is Chinese stuff but the receiver hitch point I got from them is. I like the USA stuff for pulling gear. I guess I need to fix my solenoid fixed in my winch.

And since I got it working again it has worked flawless. Got good use pulling you and Brian this weekend. Might be slow as molasses but it still does the trick

Might be slow as molasses but it still does the trick Yeah, sorry, I did not thank you properly for the pull. I was in a bit of a panic. Mine is slow too but what the hell. It is not worth buying a new one. I mean after all, are you really in a hurry when winching? One thing I did not like was the unsafe acts I saw while winching. We really need to use a blanket and get folks out of the way. Let's stick together and keep all us assholes alive.
