| we picked our tree up from the FANCIEST part of CT, this town called Westport where a load of famous people have not million dollar houses but 10+ mil houses. i got lost so im driving thru this neighborhood and people are just staring at me like wtf? then when we got there i pulled in and the purchase stand was right in the front and i stopped to ask the guy where to go and everyone was just freakin staring at me the guy was nice enough and said "sorry we don't have any mud for you to play in" joking around. overall it was pretty funny to see all these people in their lands end and fancy ll bean clothing with their special once a year christmas tree saws in a special case trying to get their trees on top of their rangies with no rack. it took us about 15 mins to pick one out and 2 mins to get it on the roof and strapped down. On the way home we stopped at REI and checked out some stuff. They just opened the first Dicks near me so that's exciting, finally a real outdoor store nearby. although my truck doesnt fit in the parking garage so id have to take the wagon if i want to shop there. | |

Fair warning...Dicks isn't a 'real outdoor store'...it's mostly athletic equipment (i.e.- football, soccer, hockey, baseball, basketball, etc), golf clubs, etc. Their hunting/fishing gear selection is OK, but their camping stuff tends to be middle to low end stuff and generally overpriced. | |
