Spring Rausch Trip

What weekends are good for you guys for Spring at the creek? I was thinking early June possibly June 9 & 10? i have been keeping an eye on the Rausch forum and they have stuff planned for nearly every weekend from April until Sept 22.... June 9 looks like one of the quieter weekends over there though. let me know your thoughts. any opposed to just camping at Rausch rather than Echo or Camp a While?

june 9-10 sounds good to me. I have a friend with a wrangler on 35s, can he come too? hopefully the ls1 and ford 8.8 swap is done by then.

Camping at Rausch sounds good to me if I can get the time off of work and can fit it in...

Something to consider with the timing...the big event out at 'the Wilds' is the following weekend. (If you guys haven't been out there, it's worth the trip...especially if you have and bring kids...in 2011 they led us through the game preserve in our Rovers as everything wrapped up on Sunday...)

June works for me. Camping preference doesn't matter but rausch will probably be full of people.

If I can get my truck together by then count me in. My tubing bender is on backorder so its kinda screwing my build up.

It's a big game preserve run by the Columbus zoo that's located near Zanesville, OH. They have 10k acres, with ~1k acres fenced for their savanna style animal habitats. Somehow (don't know how) the Green Oval Guild has gotten in with the Wilds and has a couple offroad events there every year. They've been cutting trails there for 3 or 4 years now and have some pretty diverse terrain so they've got something for everyone from stock trucks to guys in their heavily modded D90's.

Turn out was pretty good last year...71 trucks. Camping is on the property (well away from the animals ).

Also, if you poke around in the Rovers magazine that Rovers North puts out, there was an article about the 2010 event in one of the 2011 editions...

I will put it on my calendar, but I'm getting married that month so..........some BS might pop up between now and then.

Pitch it as your honeymoon...camping/wheelin at RC to start the week and camping/wheelin at the Wilds to wrap it up.

Shes all for it. At least a roll cage anyhow. Havent tried to talk her into removing the roof yet but with time thatll happen. As far as coilovers go thats been in the plans since ROTRwhen I broke both front shocks (long bouncy trip home).

Guess i got lucky she dont care what I do as long as I pay my bills and its safe to drive.

HA! I dont blame her for being cool with a roll cage that thing freaked me out a couple times. You give up hope on ever getting it street legal again?

Its starting to look like i'll only be able to pull off one of the spring trips, and i'm leaning towards rausch rather than the pines

Yeah, set a date Eddie. Remember "The Wilds" are in June as well. I am going to try and make that this year.

BIG BIG plans are in the works. going to make a call in a few mins and finalize this.
