| Transmissions are not my thing and have never fix or mess with one , so Im looking at this RRC low miles that has been rear ended while parked and pushed 20ft , the owner saids that after the accident the transmission started to slip , if I get it am I looking at a transmission swap or can you guess what broke and will it be worth fixing or just go with the swap. Thanks | |

| I would check the fluid level an condition before ripping into it too much. I would try changing the fluid if it has a burnt smell. I dont really know of anything that would make the trans slip from a rear collision. | |

I will start this off by saying I dont know much about the transmissions either. I would swap it from a lower mileage truck. These transmissions are pretty resilient and if one fails I am going to guess it probably dead.

| According to the owner and I so the insurance pictures , the vehicle was running fine prior to the accident what ever got damage got damage because the truck was rear ended while parked and pushed 20ft. into a tree the body damages are , front bumper ,rear bumper and rear quarter panel , what I do like is low miles 90k and is a south truck no rust that along makes it worth it to fix the truck , so the question is : what gets broken if you push the truck when the transmission is in Park? that seems to be the problem . | |

| Has he checked the transmission fluid since the incident? Does it go into gear at all? Sounds like something got smashed internally like torque converter... or it leaked fluid and he didnt realize it.. | |

Dont know if he had checked the fluid , what he mention is that the truck was running 100% prior to the accident , he move the truck into a flatbeb and that's where he notice the trans slipping , a whole trans in ebay is about $300 to $350 if I go this route is that a simple swap ? should be ....but I have done it

I would probably also pick up a torque converter if I were you... If you're not in a huge rush I may be parting out a 95 D1 starting next Sunday if I dont sell if by then.. If he noticed it was slipping out of gear while driving it onto the flat bed that means it's not engaging even before getting to speed.I think there is more to the story than what he is telling you. but if you're getting a steal of a deal why not?!

Not set on a price with the guy yet but is looking around $700 ,if I do it I will sell my Disco XD , Im looking for a expedition vehicle that will last that 4600 mile trip to Panama next year ,the main thing for me to install will be tires, suspension lift and a snorkel ...roof rack will be nice but I'll be by my self so I will have plenty of room for gear inside

| i saw Jarek and Barb going who else is? you can pull the seats to get extra room, it's only a few bolts that hold them in place and it really makes it roomy back there. | |
