hey everyone. It was great meeting all of you adn letting me tag along. Had a blast. Definately looking at going back. great pics by the way Stan. And Billy, can you tell Lexi that I did break sometihing, WHile driving home.

Great time this weekend guys. Looking forward to getting out again soon. If we don't schedule our vacation in conflict with the Rausch trip I'll see you up there in a couple of weeks.

This is how I got home....

Truck kept overheating. Ed was nice enough to tow my up the turnpike to a rest stop and let me bum his AAA. Thanks again man you truly saved the day.

Awesome weekend over all minus all the hicups hope everybody else had a great time!!

Fodge thanks for the winching pics. It's funny I'm wearing leather gloves and flip flops while winching.

Thanks for coming out guys, it was great meeting Mike and Mike and team FJ. And of course it's always a pleaseure to see the Doc. You should always see the Doc once a year. Here are some of my pics, most of which are from Sunday when it was just Jake, Billy, Lexi and myself driving our Discos like boats. Hope to see everyone out at Rausch at the end of the month!

Great pics/video everyone. I know I mentioned it to a few of you, but I really respect that you were kind enough to let me tag along in the FJ on Saturday. I knew Land Rover guys would be friendly, and I was not dissapointed.

Coming from an independent front suspension guy it is really cool to see how much flex you solid axle front suspension guys get!

I wish I could join you guys at Rausch at the end of the month, but I will be visiting family in Maryland that weekend. I will be watching your forum for other events though.

I appologize, but as I met all of you at once I got overwhelmed with names and managed to forget almost all of them at once, but here is the link to the Army Recovery Manual I discussed with one of you. It has a lot of information that can be used of you find yourself stuck without a lot of help.

Edited to add: To they gentleman with the stock truck; you are the man, you went through some deep water with a smile (maybe it puckered a little, but it was still a smile in the end)!

Here's my definition of puckered - driving lost for 1.5 hours on roads as bad or worse all by yourself in a stock Rover with no bypass routes or place to turnaround. I was pretty relieved to finally connect up with everyone. Thanks again for waiting around while i played Lewis and Clark.

Joel - thanks for posting the Army manual (I was the silver stock with Ranger sticker). that will come in handy the next time i decide to wander off on my own.

Doc, what we discussed starts on page 85 of the pdf (84 of the manual), but the whole thing has ideas that you may never know when they may be usefull. It is a little dry, but I bet it won't be the worst army manual you have ever read.

It got me out of where Jake got stuck a few posts ago when I was by myself (well I was with my girlfriend, but she was not strong enough to pull me out ) without a winch, or even a hi-lift (like a dumbass).

that's no joke. some serious water the second day.

It was great meeting all the new guys who came out for the trip and always a good time seeing everyone else again.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the random Defender we came across in the woods, haha

Also everyone check and grease your u-joints. The water will kill them quickly. Had to pull my front driveshaft today because one of the u-joints is now shot.

The second day we sure found some serious water and if it wasn't for Jake thinking his truck was a boat we probably would have turned around.
