VERMONT OVERLAND TROPHY

August 7-12, 2013

An overlanding odyssey challenging man and machine while showcasing the best the Green Mountain State has to offer.

Every self-respecting overlander knows the holy grail of grueling overland expeditions, the Camel Trophy. Vermont Overland Trophy is Camel Trophy made practicable and sustainable.

VOT participants will challenge both themselves and their overlanding rigs to four days of punishing vehicle-dependant overlanding designed to challenge the participants’ vehicle capabilities, navigational skills, driving prowess, camping efficiency and physical stamina all with one goal in mind: to simply finish.

you need to be more then that if you go, each team has two drivers and two navigators. lots of navigation needed. Looks like I'm going to meet Justin up there and be the navigator in his P38, not sure who he has in mind as our teammate.

This may be a dump question, but is it strictly land rovers? Because i noticed a G-wagon in one of the pictures, and i know of a few other trucks that would do really well in this sort of overland challenge. This looks like a really cool thing, super challenging and i know a few people that live for this sort of thing and if our schedule works would be interested in doing this. I guess i will need to start mulling it over with some people

no i believe it's any type of SUV. they also have a moto class.

yea... i've always been more comfortable on 4 wheels versus 2. But like I said i'll start talking to some guys and see if I can put a team together. Already know who I would ideally like to have but lets see who is available first i guess.

Well looks like i may be doing this as well, Already found to friends who are willing to join. 1 mechanic and another amateur rally driver/navigator, now i just need to get another truck + Driver that is capable.

And yes by the time of this event I will have more mods including lift/real MTs/high clearance front bumper & winch. So I will be less sucky lol.

And i need to register before there are no more spots! But seems like a really fun challenge and should i get a team together we look forward to being there

Team British 4x4 Specialists is registered with Keith's LR3 and my Series 3. Oh, what a contrast in form and function that will be. Hope Keith wont need me to pull him out. He's probably double my weight.....

This looks like fun.. I used to watch a group wheeling at the base of Killington Mountain a while back when I downhill biked the Diamond trails. I remember running at their open years ago but was asked not to come back when my '98 H1 vert got wedged between a pair of trees outlining a path my fault. LOL
