I commend you for the handywork! as a computer geek I use the digital shit to help solve the problems my hands-on skills would fail me at. As the price of tech comes down I wouldn't be surprised if we start to see people making after market parts in 5 years with 3d printers. specifically metal and plastic bits and bobs.

Yeah I think I'm going to have to invest in a 3D printer that can work with metal. With that I'd be able to keep my Dads and my Land Rovers running indefinitely.
