http://www.armslist.com/posts/502435/state-college-pennsylvania-rifles-for-sale--lee-enfield-jungle-carbine--308 FYI. I think that's just a regular Enfield. (I used to have on in .303 British, but otherwise just like te one you've linked to above...I always wixed it was a Jungle Carbine though.) IIRC, a jungle carbine looks like this:
Ah, all the photos of UK troops I've seen in the Pacific theater had the full wood stock so I figured there wasn't much of a difference.

| While at the range for work, I took a couple shots with my slug gun. Mossberg 500, smoothbore slug barrel, with rifle sights. Lower group was at 25yds with brennekke greens, upper group was at 50 with brennekke black magics. Grouping was better at 50. One of the 3 at 25 lost the wad/stabilizer, hence the 4th hole. Im amazed how much better they shoot than the Remington sluggers we use at work. | |

| No pics yet but I was up by my parents getting my taxes done and I happened to pass Tanner's Sport Center in Warrington PA. Decided I would go in and "just look around" ended up buying a Benelli Super Nova 12g, I really enjoyed how it felt so I bought it. Don't tell the fiancee lol. | |

| Okay so my Dad's 70th is coming up in August and I am thinking of getting him an Enfield. Now as you know he had one in South Africa (which he inherited from my Gand father) which he had to get rid of when we moved. The one he had looks a lot like this one: http://www.armslist.com/posts/1757272/dayton-ohio-rifles-for-sale-trade--enfield-no-4-mk1-sporterized If anyone has advice on what to look out for (so far I have found that sometimes the bores are worn) it would be appreciated. Also if anyone knows someone selling a sporterized #4 Mk1 Enfield I'd much rather go with them than a complete random stranger. | |

| I've also got some new toys. Top is not done yet. Still need a barrel to finish it out. Bottom is a 1942 91/30 Mosin Nagant. I refinished the stock, and threw a scope on it. The bolt spent a total of about an hour and a half in the ultrasonic cleaner at work. It had a quite a bit of surface rust, and some caked in petrified cosmoline, but it looks brand new now. | |

| We also just got issued these at work: LWRC PSD. We're just waiting on the correct aimpoint micro bases to come in. Whomever ordered the aimpoints ordered them with the low bases by mistake. | |

| One of the towns around here took their surplus a1's and just swapped 14" carbine barrels onto them. Cost them about $150/gun | |

| Problem with doing changes like that, if they are drmo they still belong to uncle sam, you are borrowing them, changing the weapons configuration is forbidden unless you retain those parts to change it back, they do spot inspections on the guns, not often but does happen because they are "machine guns" I am an armorer so ..... Its like a tank or canon at a vfw, still belongs to uncle sam | |

| We have not, spoken to armorers that were in the past, hands on inspection of each gun had to call in off duty guys to have theirs checked, not something I want to deal with, plus I priced it out as cheaper to buy carbines then change our rifles over to carbines and store the parts, I would love to get a job in n.j. as a cop | |

| Went to the gun shop near me and I found a 308 Browning BLR (Japanese not Belgian) with 2x7 scope in REALLY good condition. Bore looks almost new, they want $650 for it and will be having a sale next week. Man the lever action is silky smooth, now I have to convince the wife to let me buy it... | |

Thanks man, I appreciate it. Right now though I'm looking to get a brush gun for white tail and because PA still doesn't allow semi automatic hunting, a lever action seems to be a good way to go. I get something that's good out to 200 yards and quick enough to be able to get off a second round if needed. The one I found is pretty much the same as this, only $150 cheaper and i don't have to pay shipping. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=450953181#PIC
