| What has anyone done to keep the rear mudflaps on the truck? I just tore off another one today. That makes 3 this season for me.
I think I am getting ready to fab up some removeable mudflaps. Of course I will not remember to remove them and tear them up too.
I have no front flaps and I am tempted to run without rear flaps until inspection time. They are required in my state. Based on some height versus distance calculation from the center of the tire to the rear bumper.

| Where do you live Dan? I have not heard of mud flaps being necessary for inspection. | |

| I live in Vermont. I keep backing over the flaps between logs or a bank and tear it off with the tire.
You can not buy a truck without mudflaps here. They have to extend to below the center of tire and can only be some unknown (to me) distance from the tire. There is some formula the inspection station uses by putting a yardstick at the base of the tire and the flap has to be some height based on the distance from the tire. It does help prevent stone chips and greatly reduces road spray from other vehicles.

| Sounds like you will have to engineer some type of removable flap as you suggested. Maybe a plate with quarter-turn fasteners or a hinge pin you can remove.
Sorry man, that's I'll I have for ya. I do have a brand new set of mud flaps that I can sell you for $20 plus shipping if it will help. I never installed them on my truck, now I know why...
As for events, is Mettetowee or what ever the hell its called close to you at all? a lot of us are further south.

| We used to tie mudflaps up on our dump trucks. More or less just had a hole in the bottom of the flap and just pulled it up and had a hook to hold them up and out of the way. | |
