Down in the pine barrens is a nj state hunter training area, where we can skeet shoot, its free, and its bring your own throwers, etc. We can shoot, then ride some trails.

I'm so down! But can I bring a gun into jersey? Theyre crazy about that. Fwiw I have a thrower

I wouldnt bring a nerf gun into The Peoples Republic of New Jersey.Even if they pass that reciprication law I'll keep my guns in pa.

If anyones interested I have a Mossberg 12ga pump, camo, full turkey choke, truglo sights. I shot 1 shell threw it the day I bought it, cleaned it and oiled its been in the safe ever since. Im open to any reasonable offers I just dont like the gun. I think its a model 835 I'll look sonetime when I get home.

According to NJ Laws:

New Jersey laws governing firearms permits, purchaser identification cards, registration and licenses do not apply to a person who is transporting the firearm through this State if that person is transporting the firearm in a manner permitted by federal law, 18 U.S.C.A. 926A.

This federal law permitting interstate transportation of a firearm applies only if all of the following requirements are met:

A.The person's possession of the firearm was lawful in the state in which the journey began;
B.The person's possession of the firearm will be lawful in the state in which the journey will end;
C.The person is transporting the firearm for lawful purpose
D.The firearm is unloaded
E.The firearm is not directly accessible from the passenger compartment of the vehicle
F.The ammunition is not directly accessible from the passenger compartment of the vehicle
G.If the vehicle does not have a compartment separate from the passenger compartment, the firearm and ammunition must be in a locked container other than the vehicle's glove compartment or console;
H.The person is not:
1.a convicted felon
2.a fugitive from justice an addict or unlawful user of drugs, or
3.an illegal alien

I. The person has not
1.been adjudicated to be a mental defective
2.been committed to a mental institution
3.been dishonorably discharged from the armed forces, or
4.renounced his United States Citizenship

Also:

State law generally prohibits any person from knowingly possessing or transporting any rifle or shotgun without first having obtained a New Jersey firearms purchaser identification card (FPIC),

Although:

An FPIC or handgun carry permit is not required by a person transporting any firearm while traveling directly to or from: (1) any place for the purpose of hunting, provided the person has in his possession a valid hunting license; (2) any target range or other authorized place for the purpose of practice, match, target, trap, or skeet shooting exhibitions; or (3) any exhibition or display of firearms that meets various qualifications specified by law or in rules promulgated by the Superintendent of State Police, who must be notified of the exhibition or display at least 30 days in advance.

its nearly impossible to get a gun where i live and my truck maxes out at like 60 so im in the clear! now who has a uzi and a Ferrari i can borrow?

I travel between states a few times a year, you really just need to be smart about how you transport them and so on.

The 5.7 round is no more expensive than shooting a .40 or .45 pistol. The ammo comes in boxes of 50, same as pistol ammo and is priced the same or even cheaper than those pistol rounds.
