| So I may just patch these floors in this other D1 for now if I can borrower a decent welder and get some material for cheap. Then I should be able to make it to the snow and sand event. | |

| Buy some psp and just lay it in as a floor. The holes will just let the water drain out and no need to weld | |

| Unless you plan on keeping the new truck and restoring it/keeping it just get some sheet metal, drill and bits, pop rivets, and heavy duty caulk. It will do the job cheap and effectively.Or you could just get a 4.6 for betsy... | |

Yea may do that to fix it all for now just to get it on the road. Have some other small stuff to fix if I decide to keep it.

| You can mig sheet metal depending on the thickness but its not easy. The real problem is that when you mig the metal you weld has to be very clean ie rust free.IMO the pop rivet caulk fix is cheap, easy and can be taken out later and done properly later. | |

| You can weld sheet metal with a larger mig all you needto do is a couple hundred little spot welds. If you have something copper to put on the underside while welding that help too. | |

Yup. Just just do little stitch welds about 5" apart and let cool then go in between those welds with tacks let cool and keep repeating till you either have a full weld or its real sturdy then seal it up with brushable seam sealer then paint. Flux core wire sucks major ass get a welder that uses gas and use .020 wire and youll be fine.

| A damn good welder told me once "anybody can weld 1/4" metal but no one can weld sheetmetal". Youll be fine as long as you let the metsl cool and just do small 1/4"-1/2" stitch welds. And like Brett said make sure everything is good and clean, itll be a stronger weld and the cleaner it is itll cut down on some spatter. Out of all the body shops I ever been in I have yet to see some one have a nice weld on sheetmetal but as long as you have a grinder to clean it up afterword youll be fine. After all its just a floorboard its not like its an exterior panel on a show car. | |

| Yea as long as it holds strong and would last for years if I resold the truck. Gonna have to clean up any weld I make anyway. | |

I know it's just a disco and I could rivet some parts but the rocker panels are rusted too so I have nothing to but it up against.. In going to access the situation some more with a grinder in hand
