I'm picking up a set of Rover Bones weld on diff guards and was wondering what the normal protocol is to get rhem on. I'm more accustomed to Dana axles, where you just bolt on a new beefy cover and call it done.
Should I stitch weld them, or put a solid bead across the bottom? Do I need to drain fluid out first? Any grounding/electrical issues to worry about....disconnect battery?

Take the batt cables off.Don't need to drain the diff fluid.Run a bead on either side.Leave an opening on the bottom of 2' or so so water can drain out.

if you do it all at once you'll cook the diff fluid. You gotta do a few stitches in order to keep the heat down. When me and schuler did mine you could hear the oil boiling in the diff. oops

I figured I'd have to leave a drain point. These go directly to the outside of the housing I'm guessing. Not a problem, I'll be ready for some trail runs right after.

Let me know when you want to go, I will hopefully have all my projects finished towards end of month

Will do, first I have to bring it to the dealership to get a noise looked at in front end as well. Hopefully my warranty company won't bust my balls about the lift. I'm hoping that since its only the 1.5" that they won't notice.

I may be stating the obvious here (sorry if I am) but make sure not to ground the welder on the pinion. The current can't travel properly through the bearing, will ark and fuck up the bearing.
