Looking for harmonic balancer or 3.9/4.0 lower end

Let me know what you guys have.

Long story short, truck was running rough. Changed out a few things, including the fuel fliter and the 90 was still running rough but smoother.

Pops ends up taking it to the mechanic and he finds that the gasket is blown between 2 and 3 cylinder then finds that the crank pulley is wobbling and 22 degrees out. Turns out the bolt was loose and also caused the key (shorthand) egged its slot a little.

So we are going for the harmonic balancer since its only at a 100,000 miles. If that doesnt work then we'll just find a low mileage engine and switch it out.

Thrown a loop with this mess for finding a pulley. Mechanic found one from a 3.9 defender but when he put it on the crank it didnt fit. And when he went to look at the engine number it had been removed. Need to know if there are any other marks or items to look for to decipher the origins of this engine.
Its a replacement engine that I bought back in '04 from a shop in Canada.
Any help in this would be appreciated.

You might want to post on the forum I linked above, a lot more traffic there, also how does it not fit? Hole in damper to big/to small?

I also started the same thread on three other forums but I will look into the forum that you linked to. Just didnt think it ever had that much traffic.

perhaps the motor is euro spec? You are positive it's a 3.9?

Dumb question, did he notice if the original was flush? Seen other brand engines in the past this way, also that seal probly had a spring in it always chance it was knocked off and blocking the balancer seating

Important thing is the pulleys align

What vehicle do you have?

One that is being worked on is a 1994 D90. This is the second engine in it as I broke the original engine it almost ten years ago now.
Honestly I was told it came from a disco(what father told me it was back in 2004) and was a 3.9. I did all the work back in '04/'05 from pulling out the old engine to putting in the new engine. Moved over all the stuff that I needed to.
Does anyone know of any other markers on an engine to identify it?

At least you know about working on the rover it is hard to tell guys level of wrenching over the net
