Yea I hope to be making what you're making when I am 50..

Yea you better not even joking about being a grandpa if your kids are getting into middle school. These days they are having them that young. It's SCARY.

Don't really see the point of putting it in there unless I can do the whole job at once. I'm kind of OCD that way. I put the TC in without the shifter it would drive me insane every time in get in the cab. Kind of an all or nothing kind of guy.

And I'm too frigging fat to do that job under the car in the driveway. I'm waiting for a lift.

Yea I hear ya on that.. but 50% of my projects arent complete either..

I'd get it done just so when you go wheelin you can engage it. Even if that means climbing under the truck to engage and disengage it's 100x better than not having it (trust me) before I fixed my shifter Rausch just wasnt as much fun.

I fixed my CDL in the middle of the Robesonia event. I got stuck on the first course, ripped the console out, lubed the shit out of shifter, pried on it a bit and bam. I had my CDL.

Transformed the truck.

yeah fodge i say you put it in. i do all my work in my driveway with the 4 plastic ramps from auto zone that i bought or the floor jack and 4 harbor freight jack stands.

taking the console apart is really not that hard. the worst part is drilling out the rivets. and my advice is to use sheet metal screws when putting it back together so you can take it apart whenever you need. i think it has like 15 rivets in it and when i put it back together i used like 5 sheet metal screws in their place. lol. now it's real easy. i wrote the nut size and thread down on LRF when i did my cheapy setup. if you have the nut on there anyone can get under there when we are at rausch and turn that nut and engage the cdl for you until you find the perfect setup. it's def worth getting the tc in, that will be a way worse job then jsut doing the handle.

before doing my cheapy extension i was going to use a bar that went over the frame mounts to the side of the truck that i could just push forward or backward to engage it.

Agreed. I'll bench press that thing into place while you guys bolt it down.

But seriously. I'll help out if you want to do this Fodge! We may want to keep the truck close to the ground though. If you can find a transmission jack we could get it done in a day.

This is worth buying just for the job

I have ab adapter that goes on a floor jack if you need it? Also have a lift available too. But usually transmisions and transfercases are easier doing on the ground in my opnion.

I agree with doing it on the ground.. What does the adapter look like and fit?

https://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?R=NLE7917130_0006396408

It fits my 3.5 ton and 5 ton floor jacks just replaces the pad and has a pin on the bottom to hold it in place. I have a truck transmission jack to but its about as big as the disco.
