what to do 4.6 or another engine

Hey I have been thinking about how unreliable a 4.0 & 4.6 are ,I love my D2 but I am tired of worrying that it will break down anytime I drive it . I replaced the the 4.0 with a used 4.6 and know I have the oil light on replaced the pump and it on at idle . other than getting an engine from AB for 6 grand what else can be done please help I don't want to drive jeeps again !

should have stuck with the 4.0! lol... depending on your state regs i know where you can get a Tdi motor for it. otherwise i would get another 4.0 and rebuild it top to bottom and just use the 4.6 til it goes boom. i think the 4.6 was the worst engine they made.

I live in New York so I'm guessing the TDI is out but the 4.0 had a slipped sleeve and I still have that motor should I have it resleeved ?

top hat liners and pinned sleeves. there use to be a PDF but i can't find it right now.

I maybe better off buying a block with top hat sleeves and reassembly

I was told 03 /04 4.6 d2 engines are the only ones with liner issues

I am doing the stroker conversion, 4.6 crank and rods, 4.0 pistons and cam , I already installed the Volvo injectors

Have to get this done before the annual cause my oil lights not happy on cold mornings and I think I have bottom end noise starting
