My radiator to trans cooler trans oil cooler line broke on Fri.
I was able to do a field repair, added 2 qts of cheap dollar store ATF, drove half way home, added 2 more and finished the trip.
Sat. I ordered the part, it will be here Tues.
In the mean time I have sprayed the fitting on the towel bar cooler with PB Blaster and tried to loosen it, it will not budge.
I have sprayed it twice since Sat. morning and it still will not budge.
You guys have any idea's?
I'm already borrowing a car to get to work and need to get this fixed after work Tues.
Do you guys have any tips for getting this fitting off?
It is pretty rusted and obviously I dont want to break the towel bar.

Have you tried putting a wrench over it and hitting it with a hammer (not too hard though, don't want to bend anything) to see if you can dislodge some of the rust? Kind of like an impact wrench just not as violent.

No I have not tried that yet, I did hit the wrench with my hand good and hard, I was moving the whole truck.
I have the grill removed to make it easier.
I am afraid to use heat and of course I dont want to damage the cooler.

Yes, yes I am.

Well after 4 days of soaking with PB Blaster, WD-40, carb cleaner, motor oil, using my fist as a hammer, a small ball peen and a 16oz claw hammer I took it to the shop.
I left the grill off, put the new cooler line and a gal of Maxlife on the seat and the keys in the drop box.
I need her back on the road, only having one car does not work.
Either I bum rides to work and back or my wife bums rides to run errands.
She will be done tomorrow and back on the road.
I hate to pay someone else to do work I can do but I MUST have her back on the road.

I was afraid to use heat, I didnt want a fire.
Honestly after working 12 hours in 95*F heat the last thing I wanted to do was work on anything outside.
$60 to have the shop do it, I know I got ripped off but I was tired of messing with it.
They had to lower the ARB to remove the old line.
She is back on the road and I am happy with that.
