| Just spoke to Ben. He said there are plenty of spots still available. Sofar only 3/4 trucks but doesn't know how many people actually camping. It's $23.00/night. Facilities are at walking distance from site. (Good since I'm bringing girls) we pay with cash or personal check when we get there.
We are probably going to meet at The Vermont Country Store (9:00am) 1292 Rockingham Road, Rockingham, Vermont 05101. And sleep over into Sunday.
Hey guys Sunday the 14th is my wife's birthday I would like to singe happy birthday and cut a cake for her any places up there to get a cake or would I have to bring my own? Maybe at that store? Thank guys. Hopefully see you soon.

| Everyone make it back? I stopped in NY at my parents house, couldn't keep my eyes open for the additional 2 hrs to NJ. Heading back this AM.
Hoping Bill's abortion of a wheel bearing fix held up.

We had a real good time and the trails were amazing. Can't wait to get up there again.

| Also here is a Step by Step instruction to replacing your wheel bearing by Bill
- Pull over on the side of the road so the local hillbillies can hangout with you - Break C clip right away - Remove molten metal pieces from hub - Sand paper & file down stub axle - Chop random metal piece off stub axle - Wrap new hub oil seal with electric tape to fatten so it fits new warped crater hole hub - Grease wheel bearings... all 3 bearings - Put Hub assembly on - Tighten nub nut... like a lot - Remove hub assembly - File down hub nut because now it is 50mm on some corners and 55mm on some others - File down threads to stub axle - Put Hub assembly on - Eat bacon - Put 3rd bearing in without race... this is key - Follow with hub nut... real tight - Fold washer in there, probably - Put the other hub nut on too because we needed to stuff it with more shit - Put hub flange on - Wrap axle groove with electrical wire - Drive 5 hours home

| But AAA doesn't make for an epic story.
(Bill, tap your brakes twice if you agree with that.)

| I am going down to the same area the weekend of October 11. Going with the people I work with, a couple of Jeeps and Toyotas. Anyone want to come up and try more trails that we did not get to, they are welcome. I am sure we could make a weekend of it. Camping might be real cold, but you never know the first weekend in October. Might be sunny and 70's or maybe snow. I will start another thread for this trip. | |

| Billy I had all those parts on the floor of my garage. You could have gotten it back together without the tape and wire at least.
Sorry we lost you, I feel pretty bad about that...

That is a pretty accurate description of what happened haha. All local hillbillies up there carry torches in their van btw. So we arrived Friday night and camped at a nice campground. The guy who met us at the gate was wasted and was telling everyone about the mini's he races. Saturday wheeling was a lot of fun, even with the rain that came in. The trails were cool and the scenery was real nice. After we pulled off the trail my truck started making some very unsettling noises. I was in the rear and radio'd ahead that I was stopping. I probably should have made sure everyone heard me because after I found the noise everyone was gone. Christina and I drove around a littlle and ended up finding a nice campsite with lean-to's. Built a nice fire and slept in a dry little hut. Turned out to be a good night. I got maybe an hour into the drive home when the truck started making some crazy noises. I realized it was the wheel bearing and tried to make it into town which was about 10 miles away. Barely had service but finally got a hold of Ed. I was a few miles from the town when I decided I couldn't go any further. After a couple hours on the side of the road I was able to remove most of the hub and found almost nothing left of the wheel bearings. Luckily Jarek had a set in his truck and following the instructions above we made it back on the road. Made it 150ish miles until it started pulling hard to the left randomly. Limped ~30 miles to Jarek's and camped again. Jarek had more parts at his place to get me back on the road today and finally home. I want to thank everyone who helped me out yesterday. Ed for playing main communications hub, Peter for getting me that socket to remove the caliper, Random hillbilly for the breaker bar pipe and torch, Jarek for his bearings and stub axle and everyone who helped grind, grease, and get the beast back on the road. Thank you! AAA and an extra set of wheel bearings are coming with me next trip. I'm working on uploading some pictures
