| Well, today I installed my New-To-Me snorkel, and replaced my broken passenger side window regulator. According to UPS, my new brake rotors and pads should be here thursday. Today I discovered that my throttle body heater plate is leaking, again. So, more parts to order. | |

| I bought pads and rotors from R1 concepts, through the ebay store. It was $186 for 4 rotors and ceramic pads. I read on another forum that some people were using their rotors, with good results. We'll see how they fare after the pines trip. | |

| Don't forget to plug the drainage hole in the bottom. This is what I did, silicon sealer with a back plate. | |

| I used rtv during the install. I also took me about an hour to remove enough of the old rtv there so i could even install the thing. I still need to seal the flex pipe and the drain. I need to pick up another tube of sealant. | |

Mil-spec, I assume. I just picked up some self sealing silicone tape, and I'm going to wrap the mesh piece. I was considering using some large heat shrink tubing, but this might be simpler. That way I can use the rtv I have to seal the drain.

| The only reason I put the back plate was to prevent the silicone from beginning sucked in at some point. Probably over kill though | |

Have you installed these pads and rotors yet? What is your impression of the fit of the pads You cant really beat under 200 for a complete set up even if it is china made stuff.

| The rear rotors took a couple snack with a dead blow hammer to fully seat. Pads fit well, and so far, braking is much better than before. We'll see how they are in a year. | |

| today i tore the carpeting and foam out of the rear, also took out the headboard but left the sun visors and rear speakers. trying to get stuff done before the rausch and anthracite trip. some other things i need to do are get the brakes sorted. im hoping to buy a non-abs setup from this guy tomorrow so next week after work i will be trying to install that, and pray that it works and the mc doesnt leak. he said it was good but who the fuck knows if hes reliable. also need to get the low gear, the lever is stuck in high and i dont know if its rust or if there is a solenoid. not sure if there was a solenoid on the 93. if there is i know it's on the TC behind the e brake drum... oh yeah the e brake doesnt work. and i need to cut the rear fender wells because the tires were rubbing too much. doesnt look like i have much space to cut because the rear doors are pretty damn close maybe an inch if that. also found a hole the size of my fist in the floor right near one of the frame outriggers. amazing what you find when you pull carpet up... other things to do, new wires, oil change, brake lines, rear rotors and pads, diff fluids, and a new coolant reservoir because mine is bursting at the seams. literally.
oh and i have to work this weekend, and have next to no money because summer tuition is due. otherwise i would just pay someone to take care or some of this work.

| interior is nearly gutted. plenty of beautiful rust surprises. new plugs and wires, new coolant expansion tank, oil and filter, greased the drive shafts, still no low gear or brakes hoping the non-abs brake setup will be here today. | |

now i need to get rear calipers. going to try and keep the ABS system going for now considering I only need the two calipers to complete a brand new system. Will work on collecting parts to convert it to a non-abs system for next year.

| Yeah, I'm a little pissed...this set only survived ~30k miles. I had them done when I bought the truck, and in hindsight I think the shop I had do them is a bunch of idiots. Sadly, given what I know today it's as much my fault. If I don't find a reason for the failure I may look into having the block pressure tested before I replace them this time.
Of course, I need to fix Crazy Red and get it rolling again before I do any of this to the D2. If I'm going to make it to the Wilds this year I'm really going to have to get busy...

| I'd rather do Maine, but with only 1 truck I don't think I can make it happen, and there's no way I'm bringing both my kids for that one. (I'd never survive 14+ hours in a D1 with no AC going up there with them, let alone the wheeling and trip home.) | |
