I was the one that got Brett on that train. I have the biggest one they make, the 10 person. It was a PITA to get the rain fly as it was backordered for months when I bought the tent. yes they come separate. i had to order the rain fly direct from coleman. It is still very easy to setup, especially if you have two people. It's bigger than an OZ tent. It's just as heavy as an OZ tent. The one benefit over the OZ is that it folds down to a smaller package for traveling. The OZ tent is insanely long when packed. Doesnt fit in a truck it has to go on a roof rack. To me that is a deal breaker because it's open to the elements, who wants to set up a wet tent, that has been hit with dirt and tree branches all day. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003QUT9OE The one downfall of this tent is actually a benefit dependent on the situation. It's very square. THat gives you plenty of room, insane amount. On the down side you need a very large flat space to setup, AND if it's very windy it's basically a big wind sail. I had it at the beach in Montauk and on a very windy night i had the tie downs tight as tight as I could get them and stakes very deep and it was taking a beating. it made it out just fine, but all i kept thinking about was i wished it was a little more aerodynamic... on the other hand i think it will be fine in the woods but on a windy night at the beach it is a bit sketchy.

| sorry Tom I was in Newport Rhode Island for the weekend. The bottom of the tent is a tub style so it's good in the rain, as for above the tub it's definitely not canvas thick. Not thicker than any other tent I have owned. If you want a true year-round tent I think you have to go with an OZ or a military surplus canvas tent. You will get the warmth you are asking about but sacrifice with ease of setup, except of course with the OZ but you will pay the premium for that. I just use a 0 degree sleeping bag in colder months, and i've used a propane heater to warm everything in the tent before i got in for the night. i also use a cot in my coleman so i'm off the ground. | |

| not sure about the 8 person. the 10 person is about the 4 feet long and 10" x 10" it is heavy at about 40lbs. still not as large and as heavy as the OZ tent though | |

| Ordered the 6 man 10'x9' Coleman weathertek instant tent, fly is ordered but on back order till like Sept/Oct. Some reviews said don't need it some said have to have it so...
Wife wanted the 8 person but I did not want to haul a 50 lb tent around
