Depends on how deep the water is It's not hard you just have to drive your disco like it's a boat and create bow wake. Too much speed and too little speed are usually reasons for taking in water - more often it's too much speed.

It's actually kind of difficult to take in water at the pine barrens. I have had two weekend long pine barrens trips in my truck I have only taken in water that one time I was going WAY too fast into a 4" hole. The week before that it rained like Monday - Friday, remember that Brian? haha doing my rain dance

| HI all, new to the forum.
I was just in the pines this weekend. i have a D2 with 2.5in lift and 265s. The water this year is HIGH thanks to all the rain. i got stuck several times in some mid-door depth water that just kind of , dropped out from under me and had to winch out.
i agree i'd like to have SOME rocks and hills etc, but there is plenty of fun to be had in the pines, particularly when there is snow on top of the soft sand.
again on the water. even the bypasses were full of water, and some of the "real" trails had water paths 50 yards long that looked really deep and wound up not being attempted.
i dont have a snorkel (yet) but didnt have a problem sucking anything up. luckily.
glad i found the site, i am usually on landroversonly but the regional section there doesnt get much action.

At least now that dave and dan chopped down all those trees, you can get around it by the railroad tracks if its too deep.

Is there anything i could throw on my carpet like baking soda that may help pull the water up ? i vaccuumed a ton more water out of it today with a new attachment, but i have a feeling its going to still be wet and STINK when i get home from out of state.

That's what I did when I swamped my truck in the pines. Shop vac'd out as much water as I could, the covered the carpet with baking soda. it absorbed all the moisture out, but it was a pain in the ass getting it all out of the black carpet.

I used two cottage cheese looking containers - best way to describe it. Once it was dry I used febreeze carpet powder to get rid of the stink

Don't count on it. I had my truck all dry with airing out and a couple DampRid containers. Then, last week, I was doing some work on my truck and found that the carpet padding was still saturated! It has been months since I drove through water...
