Echo valley takes my vote because it could be beneficial in the future. After all these Rovers staying at this place they might eventually start giving discounts for events.
And who cares if their is multiple events at one time. Everyone is there to wheel their trucks and if everyone hangs together the people who paid that extra 20 bucks will realize that a shirt isn't worth $20 and it might get more people on this site. I like Billy's idea to camp together at Echo Valley. I almost signed up for the ROAV event but I had to join ROAV in addition to the $20 entry fee. I didn't realize I would have to pay the $35 fee at RC as well. I thought that is why you went with a group, to get a discount. As far as counting on Randy's trailer, it's better than nothing - even if I have to drive his rig home at 35 mph due to it's poor road manners. I think I will take the advice of getting AAA, I am only 50 miles or so from RC.

| there were two things i didnt like about echo valley, the people who run it are assholes, who really takes a $10 deposit on a campsite, and then you can't get the deposit back until the office opens at what? 10am or 11am... also the bathrooms were gross compared to Camp-a-while.... the one advantage to echo was the site was grassy and not on a main road where as Echo you had trucks going by all times of the night and it was kind of rocky. | |

| ROAV couldn't afford another fiasco like the weekend of their Spring rally when maybe 10 paying trucks attended , the rest were organizers and we did 30 trucks at Rausch Creek. This event they are having would be a repeat, as most people will attend the NELRC side , remember same place, same camping, same asshole attendees *LOL* - Hilltoppersx wrote:

I'll probably follow Randy's lead as he will have a trailer should I need one... We are not charging $20 to wheel with us. I think thats how you know what event you showed up for. Last time we let randy lead he went straight to the rock garden and blew his diff. It is great he trailers his truck because last time it was a pile of parts when he left.

Sweet, I'll fit right in. I just hope it has the camaraderie as the ROVERSClub event I attended. I don't feel like spending the weekend with everyone telling me what's wrong with my truck. The ROVERS guys are a cool bunch, run watcha brung...

F-Justin My "build" is not well publicized since it is rather lame. A bunch of used parts of a truck I bought at the fall ROVERS event. Are you bringing the 110 to Rausch? Billy - you gonna make it to Rausch?

Yes, I am a NEWBIE. Crossing over from years in the Quattro world. Dirt is new to me. when we have our outings we try to organize a group dinner by the fire but with this wacky setup with ROAV i'm sure it will be like last time and everyone will go out to eat. lunch is on the trail. the place is massive to try and escape for lunch would kill too much time. ill be cooking some breakfast sunday morning, most likely eggs, sausage or bacon, cheese sandwiches. if i can get out there fri night ill be cookin saturday morning as well. im only hesitant to come out friday because the showers at Echo are vile and I don't have the shower system hooked up on my truck yet.

| Hey Ed and gang - looks like I'm in for next weekend. Vacation plans fell through until August. Hoping to show up a couple of inches taller Trying to plan on showing up Friday night, will know for sure by this weekend, but certainly no later than Sat morn. Probably should leave Fri night just to make sure I make it there by saturday morning being directionally challenged and all... Looking forward to another great weekend. |

Ed - Can you put out an update as the date gets closer? My first overnight event and I would like to be somewhat in tune with the group (regarding meals). When you say "I am cooking breakfast" does that mean "FU and your Pop Tarts, I'm eating like a king" or you are cooking for the group? If so, what can I bring. In talking to Randy it seems there are some unspoken rules of whom brings what. I don't have that Rover vibe yet.

good news Fodge! Im really planning on making it out to camp fri night, most likely not early enough to go wheeling but at least I won't have to worry about waking up at 6 am to drive out there sat morning.

In talking to Randy it seems there are some unspoken rules of whom brings what. I don't have that Rover vibe yet. The unspoken rule is Randy brings parts for everyone else. He is like a mobile part store that happens to be there when you need him. I will have enough food for a few guys but not everyone..Since i'm probably going Friday night I will cook something at the camp, have not figured that out yet i was thinking some kind of toasty sandwich like a panini or something... sat morning and sunday morning i will have eggs bacon and/or sausage cheese and bread rolls. I always make a handful so there will be food for you. Usually Dana and Jill do a mean breakfast as well cooking the same thing. You are on your own for lunch, I would suggest packing something because there is not much.. correction. Nothing around the park or campsite except for a gas station. Saturday night if people are open to cooking at the campsite I rather do that then head out to eat. I can make a pot of chili or we can do burgers and dogs?

| You guys could go for the "Communal Chili" at night. Everyone brings a can or two of their favorite chili, or some homemade, exotic meated one, and throws it all in one big pot for everyone to share. Someone bring a box of minute rice, someone a bag of cheese and sour cream, etc. Don't forget a big pot. | |
