| Necrothread Arise! I Command You To Rise From The Grave And Serve Your New Master! - Hilltoppersx wrote:
If you have ABS, HDC, TC and BRAKE solid or flashing you are low on brake fluid. If you have fluid in the resovoir then your E-Brake sensor is shot.
So, I have the 3 amigos and a BRAKE on and they are solid. They are constant from ignition onward. The brake fluid is below MAX but above MIN. I filled out the form on the main site to see if the amigo reader was available, but in the meantime I figured it was worth asking a few questions. How persnikity is the ABS & should I just go ahead and top off the fluid? Where is the hand break sensor that Hilltoppersx mentioned? Is it worth trying to jump it? For the most part brakes are as spongy as ever and I am hard pressed to notice a difference driving it day to day. I followed the link to that write up about bypassing of the SVS circuit board, which seems like I should just do regardless, but I don't want to go ripping parts out if I don't have to. So while I wait to hear back about the scanner is there anything I could/should do? Also is it possible to reset the idiot lights without the ABS amigo if they have locked? Thx for any help you can give.

| i got your query, and yes it's available. I just need to run a diagnostic on it because it has not been used in a while before you paypal me for it.
as for the brake light, you can check the parking brake switch with a meter, it will actually rest at +12v and go to ground when the e-brake handle is pulled up. The sensor is the same with +12v.
don't do the modulator bypass yet.

| Sweet thx for the help. No rush on the scanner truck drives fine and I am juuuust old enough to have been taught to pump the brakes so ABS is mostly wasted on me anyway. | |

| the brakes suck on the disco 2.. so they are usually soft, but if they are too soft that can also cause the warning lights to come on. | |

| Does anyone happen to know what the Brake Reservoir Sensor is supposed to read at? 12V+? I did what Hilltoppersx said and checked the Parking Brake switch. Parking Brake read as fine, fluid is above Min, and Amigos with BRAKE are still solid. The Sensor going into the Brake Reservoir read at 0.40V+ which seemed really weird. I don't know what to make of that so if anybody has a theory I am all ears. | |
