are you getting into the parkway at exit 11 on the turnpike ? I think Google says to get off at exit 88 pkwy to SR70 follow for a few miles to wawa. I'll be heading south on the parkway I'm easy to see just look for a yellow disco .

man, this is a lot of planning for a trip thats a month away. Maybe it's just me but i operate in last minute panic planning. I.e. i'll wake up on saturday, late, have no idea where im going, call all of you on your cell phones, make you deliver turn by turn directions for me, and then make you wait for me before you go out,a s i'll be 2 hrs late (but it'll be rockets fault)

you don't even have to plan to screw up getting there late, it will happen. the trails are marked as roads. GPS will fail you. last time someone tried that.. we won't mention any names Dr Fodge, ended up in all sorts of water holes why we waited in the parking lot for him because his GPS took him through trails to get to us.

Dude, i was MESSED up that day. I was way beyond my skill and equipment level wandering around out there alone. Not sure if I'll make this one or not. I'll be in Denver all week getting back on Friday night. Will let you know as we get closer. I'm off next week and want to try and get my TC and shifter in to get the CDL going. Thinking I may get a few other toys for Christmas to add as well.

This will be our first winter run into the Pines. This trip and it's difficulty is solely determined by the weather leading up to the trip. Water crossings will become iced over possibly frozen solid dependent on depth. It will be too cold for camping, so we are going to do just that. We are staying in small cabins which the campsite refers to as lean to's, at $30/night they say they fit 6 but i would say comfortably 3 or 4 people. each cabin has a wood burning stove to keep you warm all night. You CAN NOT book a cabin in advance, we can check in at the campsite at 4pm. We will wheel from 11am until 4 or 5 then go check into the cabins and grab dinner, after dinner around 7 we will head back into the pines for a late run for those who are interested in wheeling in the dark and spotting the Jersey Devil.

We will wheel again Sunday morning after breakfast and wheel until the early afternoon.

There is no cost to enter the park. The only charge is for the cabin. If you would like to stay in a hotel there are a few around. Please note that all trucks must be registered, inspected and have plates. These are considered "roads" and there is police patrolling. We ran into a cop around midnight on the trails our last run in December.

The ones at bass river are completely enclosed. Have wood floors, and a woodstove. I searched around awhile ago for pictures to show my wife of them, and found this random persons album, from about the same time we're going to be there, but 3 years prior. Lauren's not camping with us now. She may join us on sunday though.
