what did you do to your disco today?

Finished bottom half of bumper, greased drive shafts, did drivers rear wheel bearings and seals, loaded up for rausch

sealed both turn signals, replaced plugs and wires, oil change.

changed the oil heavier and heavier i go to delay the tick from going BOOM. also washed her up and took the carpets out and cleaned them.

not sure. it very well could be. but it's had the tick since i bought it. so my guess is even if it is a rocker there is most likely more damage. i dont have the room to take the motor apart at my house to see how much damage has been done. the good news is im not losing coolant

I drove mine a few years with the tic fearing all the crap people say it could be, fixed for $12

See if you can pin point where it is coming from, with a screwdriver you could clearly tell mine was coming from the valve cover

Straightened my bent ass radius arm, took it of and ran over it with a diesel truck

looks like a cranked rear arm now. lol

Yeah well it is straight again, bent the mount at the frame, could not beat it back so guess it's staying bent

After buying Brett's old 5 speed D2 I figured I had to start posting sometime. I didn't exactly do all the work today but I'll post it anyway. After running into a tree at 3 in the morning (wasn't his fault), it needed some work.
When I got it..

Took the rear taillight out to change a bulb and saw this..


Original plan was to just put some POR15 in there to stop the rust. Ended up doing the whole bumper.


While I was at it I painted the frame.


Amish sandblasted the sliders for $40.


Brett got 2 new fenders, a new hood, and light finishers that Dan painted. Can't fit the drivers side light in with the broken bumper.




Bumpers off to get fixed.


A few more things and it should be 'done.' Then it will be time to scratch up the new paint.

D1 got a bath all clean again

NICE! truck is looking sharp once you get that bumper fixed and the headlight in you will be all set. any other upgrades you thinking about doing? truck is pretty well setup as is.

New springs and shocks definitely. After that just small things.

what springs are in it? I'm running the RTE 3" now Ryan got some crazy 4.5 or 5" out now.

Rusty and saggy 3" TF's. I'll have to give him a call. I want to go a little taller.

Changed my drivers hub/rotor new bearings and hub seal in it, set swivel pre load and new front pads
Ripped out my carpet

So now I believe all my maintenance is finally up to date.   

A tree fell on me while I was waiting in trail traffic.
Fortunately it hit the glass and did not hit the roof and upper lip of the window frame. Then this ~10-12 in tree top rolled off my hood.

Wow that sucks   

Drained and filled master cylinder, bled brakes

Installed new exhaust gaskets on the y pipe, no more exhaust leak

Took the bumper to a friend to get welded back together. Rear bumper is getting a rear recovery point welded on Saturday.



Welded on a collar and drilled a hole to make skid plate/steering protector removable.  

Looks good

Your friend can weld for sure.
Halfway though installing an aftermarket radio.
I might wash mine this weekend too.

HAHA forgot about that skid plate. that was a Terrafirma prototype D2 bellyskid that Justin sent me. It didnt fit for shit because it had the exhaust cutouts for a Tdi. so I gave it to Brett and he cut it up and made that skid plate.
