| This is what my normal route to work looks like: The storm created a new inlet at the bridge, and the bridge is not stable at this point. The national guard, bay head, and mantaloking police are using our headquarters as a command center Cell service is extremely spotty, data coverage is almost nonexistant. Were being told a week - for power. The substation in point pleasant was destroyed. | |

| looks like a house took out a few power line poles. i went thru the next town over last night and there are still trees blocking roads and no one has power. I didnt realize but even just 5 houses down from me all the way into rye is without power still. What's even worse is this next storm that will hit Thursday. With all this mess who needs heavy rain and more wind?... looks like some snow in Tremont for Rovers on the Rocks. | |

| I don't know if or when I'll be able to get down there. One of our detectives gave her slr camera to the National Guard and they took a bunch of pictures for us the morning after the storm. | |

| Rain, wind and high tide. Whereas I wasn't in a flood zone previously, With the new maps released this week, I would need to raise my house 5 feet to comply with the new flood elevations. I misunderstood them originally, thinking I had to raise my house 10 feet. But the height is from sea level, not grade. | |

| Well, the front corner of my slab sunk about 1/4" due to the flooding. I wasn't previously in a flood zone, nor did I ever get an water near my house, so no flood insurance. Right now i'm hoping to get some money from FEMA towards fixing it, and im emptying out my retirement fund to hopefully cover the rest of the costs. | |

| There may be a demolition party in the near future. It might be more cost feasable to just tear it down, and drop a small modular. | |

2 Months later: Good News: Natural gas lines have been replaced and pressurized, at least 50% of the island has power restored, and progress is still being made on water and sewer lines. I might be able to drive rt35 to work again after the new year. Which is good, because my 15 minute commute, has been 45 minutes since the storm. | |
