| Dude, go spend a couple bucks and get some longer cables. Mount the relays up near the passenger side fender well or take your bottle jack out and mount it in the box where your jack was.First of it will look better and I won't make fun of you, second off it will better protect your celonoids from weather and pine barrens sand.Oh yea and it won't make your Bottorf bumper look even worse. | |

| This is just a temporary solution, to get everything in there and running fore the pines next week. I plan to relocate the box under the hood. I should be able to fit it between the battery and the bottle jack. As I was cursing Nate, I also thought to myself, "I can't believe that after ripping off so many people, that Brett almost gave him more money " | |

| Spent the last 3 days trying to resolve the carnage caused when my fan exploded...replaced the radiator, fan, water pump, upper shroud, and both motor mounts. The old D2 fan and fan clutch... The radiator after the fan (or at least parts of it...) whacked it. (Sorry, but it was upside down, so the top in the pick is the bottom.) The replacement... The old water pump had some play in the shaft, so it had to go too. Started driving it home last night and it decided to eat my belt...apparently the power steering pump shaft moved out 3 or 4 mm, so it cut 2 ribs off the belt. This thin strip immediately wrapped up the fan. Luckily I had the Ultragauge hooked up, noticed the temps spike and shut it down when it hit 210. (It was running around 185* - 195* with a stock D1 fan clutch and fan until then.) Although I had a spare belt, it made no sense to waste it (the PAS pulley would have just sliced it up too.) So, standing in the parking lot of a McDonalds at 11:45 at night, I trimmed the existing belt down to clean up the edges so it would fit both the new positioning of the power steering pulley and the rest of the engine pulleys. Then I re-installed it and drove the truck home. After this drive, I'm thinking (hoping) the fan clutch is DOA. (I'd salvaged it and the fan from my '94 D1 parts truck.) The engine ran right around 190* most of the rest of the way home but temps were slowly creeping up toward the end...by the time I made the 5 mile trip home I was looking at ~206*...higher than I've ever seen it before this incident. So, next up...replacing the power steering pump (3rd time in 2012), putting the severe duty fan clutch and a new D2 fan back on, and re-bleeding the cooling system (again!) BTW, I didn't get any pics, but both motor mounts were very broken, and there was play along the radial axis in the water pump, so it had to go too. If you're wheeling your trucks regularly, make sure you're checking the motor mounts on a regular basis. I used new stock motor mounts for my replacements, but will probably be looking to acquire some HD mounts in the near future if these repairs prove to put everything back in working order. | |

| Despite doing a lot of work on my D2, something still isn't right and new problems have cropped up. I'm not too confident it's going to make it to Conclave. So, I've had to start considering taking my D1 (Crazy Red)...first thing I have to deal with on it is the broken upper shock mount I found last week. (Luckily Brian included a replacement in the box of spares that came with the truck!) | |

| Yeah, I'm going to take one last stab at the D2 tonight...I'm pulling the belt to see if I can confirm the source of the latest sound (a knocking/clicking from the vicinity of the alternator) and if I can't figure out what it is I'm going to cut my loses and get the D1 ready.
I'm really hoping it's just a water pump, the alternator or a pulley...I have spares for all of those on hand and it would be a quick fix. Once (if) whatever it is, is fixed I have to put the rear drive shaft and rotoflex back on, top up the diffs and it should be good to go.

| Dave check your power steering pump too. I had one do that and you could feel it knocking. | |

Yeah, this PAS pump is brand new and has performed flawlessly for the past 3 or 4 weeks. (While the cooling system was acting gimpy.) It would be just my luck to have another one crap out on me...

| im in rough shape... the disco evap leak is now consistent. purge valve has been replaced and the gas cap replaced twice now im going to try and replace the trickle valve. worst part is inspection was up in July and it wont pass until i get this sorted! even worse because I dont have the brake lines or accumulator for the range rover it has no brakes and im forced to drive the disco as a daily...hopefully i wont get pulled over. and of course im working every weekend so who the hell knows when i will have time to fix any of this. | |

| got my replacement pump and accumulator in the range rover. thank fuck. pump seems to be running an awful lot (not constant) so i need to check all the lines because it should be building pressure. wondering if there is air in the system if that would cause the pump to run more often. came in for a quick lunch and to check the liverpool match and now im heading back out to check out the disco and locate the evap and exhaust leak. have to hurry family birthday at 3pm.. at least the weather is awesome | |

| Dumped the rotoflex in favor of a u-joint rear drive shaft. (Getting that centering dowel out sucked.) Removed the rear sway bar. (It was broken anyway.) | |
